Dear Friends of ISI,
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as we say goodbye to 2012 and what has been a very tough fall semester for so many of our students and friends. To those who have been adversely impacted by Super Storm Sandy, please know that Molloy has put together a complete list of resources should you need some guidance or help sorting through the aftermath of the storm. For those who are looking to help, there is information on our website and the college has set up a Sandy Relief Fund to help our students; for every dollar raised, the college will match the funds. It has been amazing to see the outpouring of help and assistance to our neighbors during these past two months; and we are heartened by the sense of community and service being demonstrated.
I hope to see you at the many wonderful offerings we are bringing to you this upcoming spring semester, and for those who have been waiting, we are finally able to offer the excursion to the 69th Armory this April. In addition, our Irish language classes have been growing every semester, it’s never too late to start to learn the language of our forefathers.
On a personal note, I want to thank you all for the many notes and well wishes I received after being honored by the Irish Americans in Government in September. It means a great deal to me to have the friendship and support of such wonderful organizations such as the IAG, AOH, Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and the Rockville Centre St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. I am happy to announce that this year we will begin to offer the RVC Parade Committee Scholarship to students interested in studying Irish language. For more information, please contact my office at 516-678-5000 x 6218.
Again, Happy New Year!
